SPM's Outreach Mission

Educating, enthusing and entertaining the young is incredibly rewarding. It also brings with it the possibility that we have lit the spark of the future and SPM is justly proud of its education programme.

Children's Concerts

Each season, Southern Pro Musica performs a series of concerts aimed at inspiring children of ages 5 - 11, working in close partnership with the registered charity Children's Concerts.

Since our first concert in this series, the orchestra has now given over 100 performances in concert-halls across the south of England - including Chichester, Dorking, Guildford, Petersfield, Portsmouth, Southampton, Winchester and Worthing.

String Scheme

Southern Pro Musica is very proud to have been a founding partner of the String Scheme in Guildford, providing the opportunity for year 4-5 children in state Primary Schools in Guildford Borough to learn the violin and cello. Although funding from Guildford Borough Council did not survive the privations of the pandemic, SPM remains an active partner under the scheme leadership of The Royal Grammar School, Guildford
